I am an out-of-network provider and am able to provide superbills ("therapy receipts") to any client who wishes to use their out-of-network benefits.

When exploring your out-of-network benefits, you may want to ask your insurance company about the policy/coverage for an out-of-network provider, deductible, rate of reimbursement, number of sessions authorized per year, process for obtaining reimbursement, and if prior-authorization is required.

Private pay benefits include the counselor's ability to better protect your personal and health information. This provides you with the greatest degree of privacy as your records remain free from any audit or compliance check. Nor is a diagnosis provided to your insurance company. Private pay offers the client flexibility and control over session frequency, longevity, content, and interventions.
